Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist & Sports Performance Expert
Joe is head of Strength & Conditioning at Varsity House. He holds a Master of Science Degree in Human Physiology, and has been a Human Anatomy & Physiology professor at Montclair State University in NJ for the past seven years. He has published research in immunology, endocrinology, and molecular biology. Such topics include papers on the Metabolic Effects of Concussion, Auto Immune Rheumatoid Arthritis, and Testosterone Production. He has been a performance enhancement coach for over a decade and holds multiple certifications to complement his education and hands on experience. He has logged well over 15,000 training hours in the gym, working with hundreds of high school and college athletes from a variety of sports that include; football, tennis, wrestling, track & field, soccer, baseball, MMA fighters, basketball and hockey. Many of his clients have been recognized as some of the very best in their respective sport earning scholarships and playing at some of the countryâ€s top universities, including; Brown, Virginia, Villanova, Penn State, U. Penn, Louisville, Rutgers, Rhode Island, U. Mass, and Providence just to name a few. His no-nonsense, hardcore approach to strength & conditioning will bring out the inner warrior in you.
Dan Goodman
House General Manager & Certified Sports Performance Coach
Dan is a USAWeightlifting Certified Sports Performance Coach. Dan was Captain, All-Conference, and All-County Performer for NV Demarest in 2003. He was a Two-Year starter for the University of Rhode Island Rams and appeared in over 30 games. Dan was also Head Offensive Line Coach for Lyndhurst High School in 2009 and 2010, and served as Assistant Offensive Coordinator in 2011.
Mike “Big” Capriglione
Certified Sports Performance Coach
Mike is a Strongman Training Expert currently affiliated with North American Strongman. He placed 1st at the Krank’d Classic, 3rd at Clash of the Titans, and came back and won 1st at Clash of the Titans II. Mike has his Exercise Science Degree from Montclair State University and is a USAWeightlifting Certified Sports Performance Coach.
Nick Mercoun
Certified Strength Coach
Nick is a certified strength coach through the National Strength & Conditioning Association (NSCA). Nick is a former high school and collegiate wrestler and now serves as an assistant wrestling coach at Becton High School. Nick has his degree in Physical Education and Exercise Science at Montclair State University
Madei C. Williams
Born and raised in Pittsburgh, Pa. Madei comes from a long line of successful signal callers from the Pittsburgh Area. He attended and played quarterback for Syracuse University and Southern Illinois University at Carbondale. He also played professionally in Europe for the Manchester Wolves of the Arena Football League. Madei has been coaching quarterbacks on the High School level for 10 years. Madei not only understands the position specific kinesthetic movements of the body, but also has firsthand knowledge of playing the quarterback position at a high level. His goal of developing and motivating the complete quarterback is his passion. His high emphasis on the core fundamentals of the quarterback position during training enables his students to become efficient in the art of self correction.
